Snow Day

As you may know there is a huge low pressure area covering the western U.S. and we got some snow on Saturday evening waking up to a white winter wonderland. Growing up in California my fondest snow memory was when I ditched school the day before spring break my sophomore year so I could really see snow for the first time. I came home to a note pinned to my door saying, “If you are going to do the crime you must pay the time”. I should of known my dad was the high school conselor at my school! But behind this little “note” was all my missing geometry homework and a list of chores I was to do while being grounded all of spring break. Was it worth it? Oh heck yeah. Now being a mom I don’t have to worry about R ditching school to see snow for the first time; I will get to worry about the millions of other reasons he will ditch. At least I have a few more years before that…until then I will enjoy the snow day we had on Sunday.
