  • My Passion

Life is fun, serious, quirky, ironic, joyful, unique, tender and most of all delicate.  Each child holds the world in their hands and precious moment in time with their laughs.  As a mother I believe every child is beautiful, every person is beautiful in the soul, and my mission is to capture that moment of joy and the beauty within to be lasting family heirlooms unique to you and your family.

I want to to know you and your family.  Capture your unique memories as your family grows through sunshine and snow through the seasons of all of our lives. I look forward to connecting with you and learning your stories.

Love your life with peace and joy!

Happy New Years!

As we enter the new decade I know many are thinking about times of reflection and coming up with “resolutions”.  On our annual drive to this year’s New Year’s Eve concert I asked him once again if he had a resolution.  He said the same thing he said ast year, “Why do you need a special day to declare how you are going to improve?  I don’t believe in resolutions we should improve at any moment”

True that ….

Last year, in addition to my blog I kept a more active handwritten journal it aided in just the task mentioned by my B. Just a small task that was immensely helpful and productive.

To each I wish you a fabulous year and a year of reflection.  Here is one of my favorite pictures of the youngest brother and mom from my last session in December.

Santa Drives a Convertible!?

Is it Wednesday?  It feels like it.  The weeks are FLYING by!

Today I am photographing Santa at a cute boutique across the street of the studio called, Suburban Hill.  I could spend hours inside this store.  It is the type of place that has the cutest little finds for that special friend who has everything.  Seriously come check it out.  We will be upstairs in the loft today photographing the kiddos with Santa.  Come on down!  Santa will be with us from 1-3PM.  Here is the flyer with the special packages.  Don’t go to the mall support local business and see a fabulous Santa…I hear he is going to show up in a convertible.

Climbed the Mountain:: adoreone blog designs

Wow it has been a crazy week I must say.  A few months ago my dear friend Heather of Shivaya Naturals contacted me about a project she was undertaking.  She wanted to start a free online magazine that was devoted to natural parenting.  I met heather years ago when our three boys were at the Shephard Valley Waldorf School here in Niwot, CO.  Heather has taken the start of the seed from the school and really allowed her boys to blossom into creative young individuals.  Although, my little guy is way more of a science geek (her boys love science too mind you…just ask Jacob about the solar system!) and really his only pretending is when he is “pretending” to wash his hands after potty.  Oh yeah.  Kinda stinks that his ONE creative endeavor I have to kabash and put him back into the bathroom until he shows me wet hands! <<Tangent Stacy digresses. >>  Our boys are so different but yet we all hold the basis of caring about childhood and the magic of it.  The boys are still the best of friends with Robert always picking out toys or special food for the boys when we are at the store.  He even introduced them to SuperHeroes earlier this year…oh yeah.  Man my kiddo who sleeps with Darth Vader at his head and thinks scary things are the coolest…where did he get that?

So back to the story of the website, over a month ago, I put together a nice clean cream website for Heather.  Something for her and her partner (in crime – wait is that my title!?!), Bernadette, could work and tweak to become Rhythm of the Home.  It was truly beautiful.  But something remained just a touch off.  Heather and I talked for over a week about the feeling of this site.  What she wanted to convey.  The site was close to the wire.  Then over Thanksgiving when I showed Heather a design concept for her new blog.  It hit all three of us what a new direction we had to take.  YES FOLKS THREE DAYS before going live – WE CHANGED IT ALL!  This involved little sleeping, eating or breathing among us all.  I saw hours of the day I did not know existed since my days at Accenture building big websites for well funded ventures.  But this morning at 9 am we had it LIVE!

So I present you Rhythm of the Home.

My efforts over the last 3 days took me from great friend with a nice tushie who could type fast and take pictures…to get this Designer.  I offered up two projects for the launch of the magazine.  An infant cocoon, and a lace scarf.  I was selling the lace scarf design on etsy, but figured heck it is the holidays so MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY HANUKKAH! :)

See that cute baby in the picture.  That is Baby Chloe.  Her mom Shannon Kaple is an amazing photographer friend of mine here in Colorado.  I photographed Chloe on her first day of life in this world, and here.  I am so blessed to have Shannon in my life.  She even came out this weekend to get some family pics of the Z clan.  Here they are.  The first pic cracks me up.  My kiddo always makes what we call the old man face…here it is in full force.

A Mother’s Love::stacyZiegler Boulder Family Photographer

Well with Winter approaching so comes flu season and it appears my body has been attacked this past week.  I am moving towards the mend but I am not escaping muscle soreness and headaches as of yet.  I am looking forward to some awesome Hot & Sour soup tonight once again…chicken noodle…shaaaw it is all about the hot & sour!

Well I wanted to share a little preview.  I saw this picture in one of my latest sessions and gasped.  I know the mother, Heather, well.  You could say she is my closest friend in the world.  I met Heather many moons ago when my son, R, and her youngest E, were just a year old.  I had just moved to Colorado and enrolled in Shepherd Valley Waldorf School in Niwot, CO.   Heather and I both explored Waldorf and learned about rhythm and the treasure of childhood at the school.  It was during this time I started to take my photography to the next level.  Started photography classes and started “practicing” with friends…and their children;).  Well Heather has trusted me since I started my business to photograph her children.  Photograph the wonder of childhood they hold.  Over the years, her trust in what I can do amazes me and our friendship has grown.  Last weekend, I photographed her family.  In a brief moment Heather sat with E while she waited for her husband, Joel, and oldest, J, to join them for a family picture.  I laid on the ground and rushed to capture this image.  I gasped when I saw this for one reason only.  I know this mother’s love for her boys, and I felt honored to capture it.

So here I feel honored to show you, “A mother’s love is eternal”

mother's love

Thank you dear friends for letting me share.  I will have more to return with when I feel a bit better…for now I must go back to bed.

Love your Life with Peace & Joy,

Autumn Mini Preview :: stacyZiegler Boulder Photographer

Here in Colorado, we had just a brief glimpse of a Boulder Autumn before our snow arrived with vengeance last Wednesday, and I had the chance to capture two fabulous families right before.  Here is my first family that morning.  They scheduled one of my “mini-sessions”.  These “mini-sessions” are a great way to capture how your family has grown but still stay kind to your pocketbook.  I know with the economy the way it is we are all considering how we can save a little bit.  This is a perfect chance.  Our children don’t wait for times to get better to laugh and grow.  They only know the joy of the now and the pleasure of time together.  I know my son doesn’t know why we don’t get every book at the bookstore, or why we only get what is on our list at Target, but when he is tucked into bed and we read a book and then asks, “Mommy is tomorrow a Mommy and Robert day?” I realize that he really does not care.  He just wants me for who I am and to share our time together.  I believe that is how all families are…what truly matters is your time together.  I look at this picture it brings up that thought how life is about that same pure moment and love of the soul and being with those who make you happy to capture that is what is truly important.  I just had to come and share a brief glimpse for their mom Bernadette.

Children's Autumn Portrait

The sun, the love of a big sister, the flare  I think I squeeled a bit when I saw this one.  I hope this lightens your heart and soul as much as it did mine.

Love your life with peace and JOY!
