Angela & Brendan – Boulder Theater Wedding – StacyZ Boulder Wedding Photographer

I had an AMAZING wedding on Saturday.  There were people visiting from four continents and across the country to share with Angela & Brendan as they swore to share their lives together.  I find it a true testament to how genuine and real these two are to have so many gather to share their day.  I was excited and touched that Julia asked me to shoot this wedding with her.  It was going to be a Greek Orthodox ceremony – so cool & at the Boulder Theater – Even COOLER!  When I showed up at the church it was raining a bit with some sound effects, a.k.a. Thunder, thrown in there; then, I became even MORE EXCITED.  I just KNEW it was going to be an AMAZING DAY!  I was not dissappointed.  I know Many fear that rain on the wedding day is unlucky, but if you go through different cultures it is actually said to be a good omen.  In Italy they say:  “sposa bagnata, sposa fortunata“, sposa is bride; but mostly rain symbolizes washing away the past and starting fresh – so rain on a wedding day means that many changes will happen.  Umm hello getting married!  That is a change isn’t it?  I think it is really cool!  I know my mother in law was so upset that it was raining (misting really, but to an Orange County lady it was RAIN with capital letters) on B and my wedding day, but I didn’t mind at all.  I knew that nothing else mattered but marrying my “B”.  In fact, I still remember thinking that it was beautiful with the air smelling clean, the grass shinning and the flowers glowing.  Ever since then I have had a soft spot for rain on a wedding day, and also warm fuzzies when it clears up!   That is what happened on Saturday.  The rain, in true Colorado fashion, was there for about 20 minutes and then left while the ceremony occurred to have everyone leave the church to see the nice clean air and green grass that is so rare here.  It was truly beautiful.

Angela & Brendan than you for letting us be part of your amazing day.  The bacon wrapped dates were the best ever, and the dancing oh the dancing!  I swear I want to be Greek!

StacyZ – Boulder Photographer Learning & Growing

This week I attended the Fast Track Photographer Roadshow Workshop. To say it was life changing would be an understatement. Learning from Dane was amazing.  He not only touched on the aspects of truly running a business he also reached into who each person who was there and taught us the law of change so we can create the movement within ourselves.  Here is one of the pictures from Tuesday evening.

I was so excited to learn that Dane is coming to Boulder – YES BOULDER HERE – this December.  For all my friends email me for a special discount code.  This workshop is worth 10 times the “cost” because how can someone put a price on learning and growing to this magnitude?  I am trying to figure out some cool things for the Boulder crowd.  Later next week I will share some cool facts about Boulder.  It may become a regular feature, but we will see how that goes.

Oh and if you are on the RSS reader, I love those too, you may have missed the blog changes.  I have currently been working on some major website changes and with that I have updated the blog as well.  Let me know what you think about this new clean look.  There is more to come.

Have a great weekend.  What will you be doing? I am joining my good friend Julia Vandenoever for a fabulous wedding at the Boulder Theater.  How cool is that?

Friday – FUTAB – stacyZ Photography Loves her Girlfriends

So last week I introduced you to Put Your Feet Up and Take A Break (FUTAB) Friday.  Today’s flowered shoes have a story and always make me smile.

You see, back when hubby and I were living in the Sacramento area my fantastic girlfriend came up to visit & see our new little guy R.  He was just a few months old at the time.  Christine is always stylish and when she showed up in the black flats with bright colored 3-dimensional flowers on them, I about died.  To say I loved them would be an understatement.  I think I hid them under the bed at one point.  Only to realize I was not Christine’s size and so I had to let her take them.  I was sad and on the hunt for those shoes.   I hit up DSW and the internet and they were no where to be found.  FOUR DAYS LATER.  These puppies showed up at my doorstep with a little note.  Girl guessed my size perfectly.  She is a much better person than I.  She was not even mad about all the shoe stalking I was doing.  Oh the consipiracy I had planned to make those shoes mine!  But I digress.  Christine is amazing.  I mean really, do girlfriends get more fabulous than that?  Nope Don’t Think So!

Friend Flower Power Shoes

I have to say these shoes are probably my favorite shoes in the world.  I have worn them to the bone just about.  I still love them as they remind me of the kindness & love of a friend every time they grace my feet.  I get more complements and comments asking where I get them from ladies around town than almost anything I have ever worn.  Every time I am asked I tell them the story above.  EVERY TIME the person comments on what a fabulous friend I have.  All I can say is, “yes I do.  I am extremely lucky and grateful to her”

So Christine.  You rock!  Love and miss you babe.

Here is a pic of Christine with Little R when he was almost a year old.

Yup she is as beautiful outside as in.  My kid ain’t too shabby either.  Little chunko!  Look at those cheeks!

So tell me something that you have done for one of your girlfriends lately.  Me, I am about to make some pretty sparkly things for someone when I see them in June;)heehehehe  and another super secret project that I can not even hint about for fear of ruining the surprise.  I promise to share the pics when they are done!  Promise.

Oh yeah – We just booked my flight to California!  B and R will be out there for a bit and I am flying out for 5 days to go to Disneyland and hang out with them.  I also have a very cool photography workshop in San Diego as well.  June is officially ALL booked up.  Between this and the three weddings I have I am booked.  I can’t wait what a fabulous month it will be!

New Friends – MHP Event TTD Session – stacyZ Photographer

Yesterday evening.  I attended a session called “Trash The Dress” now there was not much trashing, but just some gorgeous models out having a great time with 39 of my friends, and three fabulous instructors.  We all are lucky to call ourselves Mile High Photographers, or MHP for short.  It was great to see everyone.  I have some fabulous stuff to share, but first I wanted to share one picture I saw three in when I downloaded the cards.  Shannon‘s future sister-in-law Kerry was there.  She is gorgeous!  I had the pleasure of talking with her more on our drive back to Boulder.  I am sure after the Starbucks I had before and the coffee Shannon got me I was just a motormouth.  Kerry was a good sport though.  She is as gorgeous inside as out.  Shannon is so lucky to have her as a sister and living close to her now as she just moved her from The City.

More to come.  I pretended to be a tough guy without a jacket and kinda got a cold.  Perhaps me being from California and not understanding that it can still be chilly in May got me.  Who knows?  It really does not matter because overall this was fabulous and will have more to say soon, but right now I need to play with a three year old.  I was out until almost 11 last night.  That is late for this mommy! :)
